THE SKIRT IS REVERSIBLE AND IS IN A SEPIA GOD BROWN AND WHITE PINSTRIPED WOOL AND COTTON BLEND. BLACK SILK BINDING TRIMS THE BOTTOM. THE WAISTLINE IS IN A GLAZED COTTON. CONDITION: THE SEPIA SIDE HAS SOME VERY LIGHT FAINT SOILING ON THE REAR LEFT WAIST WITH SEVERAL FIST SPOTS OF VERY LIGHT BROWN SOILING OF AGE COLOR AND FOUR THUMBPRINT STAINS WITH SIX ERASER STAINS, STAINING IS EQUALLY AS FAINT AS THE AGE COLOR. DATING TO THE 1870’S FASHIONED OF A LONG PILE SOFT GREY VELVET WITH THE INTERIOR FULLY LINED IN A MATCHING PLUSH RED VELVET AND IS CUT WITH A BUSTLE REAR WITH LONG SQUARE TAILS FALLING FULL LENGTH IN THE FRONT. SILK COVERED BUTTONS CLOSE THE FRONT, SLEEVES FIT CLOSE TO THE SIDE AND A SLIT BENEATH THE UNDERARM. INNER SILK BELTING HAS NO MARKS AS TO THE MAKER NOR DOES THE SILK HANGING LOOP ON THE INNER TOP. CONDITION: THERE IS SMALL WEAR BEGINNING TO THE BUTTONS BUT UNSEEN WHEN CLOSED. THE SEAM HAS BROKEN OPEN BENEATH THE RIGHT UNDERARM WITH NO LOSS, EASILY STITCHED BACK INTO PLACE.
