1925 WEDDING GOWN NET LACE AND SILK SATIN WITH SHOULDER TRAIN 1925 era net lace and silk satin wedding gown. One piece in construction, long net lace floral patterned sleeves, folded in pleats silk satin ribbon at waist, white beads and pearl trim hand sewn into scoop neckline and around cuff of sleeves. Adorned with glass beaded fringed rosette with rhinestones with long tassels on both shoulders. Skirt with white silk satin outer and on inner lining. Extensive hook and eye and snap closures. Has inner lining of white net and silk satin. Long silk satin weighted watteau train attached to back collar extending downward on floor. The upper part of train attached to neckline with snaps is also adorned with glass beadwork. Inside sleeve opening there is a sewn in museum catalog identification number fabric tag. Deaccession from the Strong museum clothing collection, Rochester, N.Y. Unlabeled. APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS Bust 27″ Waist 25″ Sleeve length 30″ Across back shoulder to shoulder 15″ Front Shoulder to hem line 48″ Watteau train from neckline 80-1/2″. ERA: 1925 to 1928 CONDITION In good condition. The bodice is lined in a fine white cotton net in good condition, the skirt silk satin lining is very good. The skirt’s lining is in very good condition. Some discoloration around metal snap closures. Back hem has been altered and hemmed up, and easy fix to release. Few small openings in lace at seams. On January 26, 1894, President Grover Cleveland (the former mayor of Buffalo and governor of New York appointed Buchanan United States Minister to Argentina. Buchanan was chosen by John G. Milburn, president of the exposition, as the exposition was planned with a Latin American theme and they wanted someone who knew the South American countries well Buchanan was Director General of the Pan-American Exposition, held in Buffalo, New York from May 1 through November 2, 1901, and is credited with the construction, operation, and dismantling of the exposition. His ancestors still resides in the same home in Buffalo, New York and all clothing were stored in the attic of this ancestral home. 1920s Silk & lace wedding dress veil with wax flowers bra shoes trousseau
The veil is cathedral length and the lace is shredding. The dress is exceptionally beautiful. The top portion is a creamy silk and near the neckline on the left side is glass beading. More of this glass beading is around the waist just on the right side.

Antique Vintage 1920s 1930s Pink Silk Lace Gown with Rosette Drop Waist AS IS. This stunning gown dates back to the late 1920s or early 1930s. It is made from a soft purple or pink silk with an overlay of delicate beige lace. The purple silk base layer begins above the bust line and falls to mid calf. The lace overlay is two separate pieces, one the straps and bodice that falls hip high. The second lace piece begins at the waist and falls to the knee. This layering gives the illusion of a drop waist. The lace has a large rose pattern. There is a three dimensional rosette sewn at the hip. It measures approximately 1 1/4 inches. There is no closure. Overall this piece is in good wearable condition for its age. The material is very delicate but there are no major holes, tears, or stains. There are some minor tears in the lace overlay as pictured.
